What we collect
When you place an order we collect the information needed to process it:
- Your name, email address and telephone number.
- Your delivery address.
- The items you ordered, the order total, and the delivery charge quoted for that address.
- The status of the order and of any payment made against it.
If you email us, we keep that correspondence so we can resolve the query. We do not ask for, and you should not send us, card numbers or banking passwords by email.
Supplying this information is voluntary, but if the information required at checkout is not supplied we cannot process or deliver the order.
Why we use it
- To check whether a product is available from our supplier.
- To obtain a courier quote and arrange delivery.
- To process and fulfil your order and to confirm payment.
- To send you order messages, including confirmations and delivery updates.
- To provide customer support and handle returns or complaints.
- To keep our records accurate, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed for those purposes, with:
- Our supplier, so the goods can be sourced and dispatched.
- The courier, so the parcel can be delivered to your address.
- Our payment provider, where you pay by card.
- The service providers that run our website, database, backups and email.
We do not sell your personal information.
Information stored outside South Africa
Some of our service providers process information outside South Africa, including the providers that host our website, database, backups and email. Where personal information is transferred across a border, we do so only as the Protection of Personal Information Act permits, and we require the receiving party to protect it to a standard comparable to that Act. You may ask us which providers and countries are involved by emailing support@cktech.co.za.
How long we keep it
Order and support records are kept only for as long as we need them for the purposes above and for the periods required by tax, accounting and consumer law. After that they are deleted or de-identified.
Your rights
You may ask us to confirm whether we hold your personal information, to give you a copy of it, and to correct or delete anything that is wrong or no longer needed. You may also object to processing where the law allows it. Email support@cktech.co.za and we will respond within the period the Act allows.
You do not have to ask us for the first two. If you have an account, your data page gives you a copy of everything we hold about you as a file you can keep, and lets you close the account and have your name, email, password, phone number and delivery address removed. What closing an account does and does not remove — orders stay on file as accounting records — is set out on that page before you do it.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
